MAKINNA SMITH

The family of Makinna Smith, age 16, would like to celebrate the life of our beloved child who went to be with Jesus suddenly on August 18, 2019. A child full of life, Makinna lived her life to the fullest, outgoing, optimistic and full of energy. Makinna was a drag racer, a track champion winning numerous races. She was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors, and loved being at the lake with family, boating, swimming, kayaking and fishing. She was a student at Jefferson County High School where she was a junior, and was a cadet with the Northview Volunteer Fire Department. Makinna accepted Christ as her Savior at English Creek Baptist Church, where she attended and loved singing. She is preceded in death by great-grandparents, Sherman and Mary Wilhite, Charles and Louise Large, Neal and Wilma Smith, Lena Beeler, and Jerry Smith; grandfather, Randy Beeler (who she shared a birthday with); uncle, Everett Baxter. She is survived by her parents, Branda and T. J. Melinn, Todd and Kayla Smith; grandparents, Jan and Terry Smith, Rick and Phyllis Smith, Sharon Smith, Lou Webb and J. D. Wilson, Ted and Judy Melinn, and; great-grandparents, Gladys Smith and Roy Beeler; uncles and aunts, Justin and Willow Smith, Cory Smith and April Hall, Bobby and Jennifer Baxter, Clawton and Tiffany Webb; a host of cousins, extended family, and more friends than we can list. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. John Fox, Rev. Mike Hensley and Rev. Tom Shelton officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 12 noon at Farrar Funeral Home on Friday to proceed to Eastview Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside interment service.
