Bush Brothers & Company Names Al Williams President and Chief Executive Officer

Bush Brothers & Company announced that its Board of Directors unanimously appointed Al Williams, former President and Chief Operating Officer, as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Williams succeeded Tom Ferriter at the adjournment of the annual Shareholder’s Meeting on July 5, 2019. This is the result of a succession plan that began when Mr. Williams was named COO in 2017 and subsequently President & COO in 2018. Mr. Williams is a 21-year employee of Bush Brothers & Company, having previously held positions in Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Human Resources. He also served as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ferriter remarked, “Al will make a tremendous CEO. His leadership qualities and executional competence are what we need to carry the company forward into future generations.” Mr. Ferriter has been with Bush Brothers & Company for 17 years, joining initially in 2002 as Sr. Vice President & Director of Supply Chain. In 2006, he was named the Company’s first non-family President; in 2009, he was named President & CEO. During his tenure, Mr. Ferriter is credited with completion of Condon’s plant, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chestnut Hill, Tennessee; modernization of the Company’s facilities in Augusta, Wisconsin; and a commitment to internal talent development. Under his leadership, Mr. Ferriter enabled the Bush family’s development of a governance structure to transition ownership from the 3rd to the 4th and 5th generations. Drew Everett, 4 th generation family member and Chairman of the Board, stated, “Tom is a masterful leader who has led our company through some of our most profitable years. He leaves a legacy of commitment to, and development of, leadership, culture, and talent. Most importantly, he is a model of our Core Values – integrity, responsibility, trust, and caring.” Mr. Ferriter plans to retire in August as he and Mr. Williams finalize their transition.
