The Jefferson County High School Patriots continued their path to post season play on Friday night as they defeated Morristown East 49-36. The neighboring county rivals met at Dumplin Valley with the Hurricanes looking to break a two game losing streak and the Patriots seeking vengeance for a close loss to other Morristown rival, the West High Trojans. Friday’s victory was important to the Patriots as they were looking to recover this season’s momentum and end with a pair of wins on the road. The Lady Patriots defeated the Lady Hurricanes in a tough challenge. It wasn’t until early in the fourth that the Lady Patriots turned up the heat, recovering from a lack luster return from the half that gave the Lady Hurricanes a real shot at the win. Once the Lady Patriots came alive it was red, white and blue all the way and the Lady Patriots walked away with a 52-41 win over the Lady Hurricanes. Friday’s game marks the final home game of the season for both the Patriots and the Lady Patriots. They will head to Knoxville on Tuesday to take on the Farragut Admirals and then complete the regular season on Friday at Cherokee.
