Jefferson County Schools Announce Two New Assistant Principals

Jefferson County Schools announce placement of two new assistant principals. The new assistant principals will begin work in mid-July in preparation for the 2020-2021 school year.

JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY

Jessica Estepp has been named the assistant principal at Jefferson Elementary School. Mrs. Estepp is finishing her educational specialist degree from the University of Tennessee in July 2020. She served on the administrative team at Jefferson County High School through the UTK Leadership Academy during the 2019-2020 school year.

I am very excited for the opportunity to join the staff at Jefferson Elementary School as an assistant principal! I feel incredibly privileged to join a team that is so deeply committed to educating and caring for all children. This will be an exciting time and I look forward to learning and growing with all of the Little Elks!” (Estepp)

Mrs. Estepp was introduced to staff members on the last day of school. Joining Mrs. Estepp on the walk through was Principal Craig Day and Kristi Waltke. Mrs. Waltke was recently named the Elementary Supervisor of Curriculum effective July 1, 2020.

MAURY MIDDLE SCHOOL

Emily Gwinn will be joining Jefferson County Schools for the 2020-2021 school year following a lengthy tenure in Hamblen County Schools. She has spent the previous 15 years in Hamblen County as a secondary English Language Arts teacher and Instructional Facilitator. Mrs. Gwinn will complete her educational specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University in July 2020.

I am excited to join the Maury Middle School team and look forward to a successful school year.” (Gwinn)

Mrs. Gwinn was introduced to staff members on the last day of school during a school walk-through. Joining Mrs. Gwinn was Mr. Ron Overton. Mr. Overton was recently named principal for Maury Middle School beginning July 1, 2020.
