INVITATION TO BID – Jefferson County Schools Bid Request and Specifications for Waterline Replacement At Mount Horeb Elementary School

INVITATION TO BID

Purpose:

The intent and purpose of this Request for Proposal for Jefferson County Schools invites you to submit a proposal for the replacement of the main water line from meter to building.

A mandatory on-site walk through is required to be able to place a bid. Walkthrough is to be held March 23, 2021 at 9:00 am at Mount Horeb Elementary School. Contact Tommy Arnold @ 865-368-6398 for information.

Sealed bids must be marked “Waterline Replacement” and either mailed to the Jefferson County Finance Department to the attention of Finance Director Langdon Potts, at P.O. Box 1749, Dandridge, TN 37725 or dropped off at 1244 Gay St., Dandridge, TN 37725. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 2021, at which time bids will be opened in the Finance Department Conference Room at 2:00 pm.

Company awarded the bid would be expected to begin within 30 days of awarded bid and completion of project is expected by June 15, 2021. A representative of the company would be responsible for setting up a meeting with JCS to ensure all details are in place for project to begin. Time frames are subject to change at the discretion of JCS due to funding purposes.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The contractor, unless otherwise specified, shall furnish all labor, tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for the complete and satisfactory performance of waterline installment and service restored to building at the following location:

  1. Mount Horeb Elementary School located at 500 East Dumplin Valley Rd. Jefferson, TN 37760.

This project is to replace the buildings main water line and add a commercial grade 1” frost free faucet (location TBD). The current line is to be abandoned and replaced with 2” PEX pipe. The length is approximately 1150’ (contractor must field verify) from the meter to the building. Approximately 500 feet lies in soil while 650 feet will require boring under concrete and asphalt. Line tie in is required and system flushed. Contractor will be required to regrade and add topsoil as needed. All disturbed asphalt and concrete must be returned to original state. No disruption of water service will be allowed to the school during regular business hours.

NOTE:

1) The contractor shall notify the owner five (5) days prior to the commencement of work.

2) The contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining, and supervising all O.S.H.A. safety precautions in connection with this project.

3) Prior to the commencement of this project, the contractor shall be familiar with all safety regulations and practices applicable. No additional payments will be made for equipment and procedures necessitated by these safety precautions.

4) Certificate of Insurance acceptable to the Owner shall be filed with the Owner prior to commencement of work.

5) Contractor will warrant material and workmanship for a minimum of one year.
