Curtis Edward Owens

Curtis Edward Owens ,63, passed on March 20, 2021.  He was born on June 15, 1957. His parents were Edward and Grace Owens. He married Katherine (Turner) Owens on September 24,1976 in Cocke County, TN.  Together they raised their two sons: Joseph (Courtney) Owens, and Jonathan (Morgan) Owens.  He additionally is survived by his beloved and cherished grandchildren: Symberlynn, Brailynn, Kaelynn, Preslee, and Boone.  Curtis loved and cherished his family and friends.  He always had a smile, and an unforgettable laugh.  He never met a stranger. Curtis started his successful career in law enforcement in Toppenish, Washington and then later retired from the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office of Jefferson County, TN as a detective sergeant after 33 years of his service.  Curtis was extremely proud of both of his boys, who are also law enforcement officers.  He was working at Valley Protein at the time of his death. He had previously worked for Old Dominion freight line and Walkers trucking where he made life long friends. Curtis was a great son, brother, loving husband, an amazing father and grandfather.  Anyone who was fortunate to cross paths with Curtis, certainly has a lasting and loving impression. He will be forever missed and will absolutely and always remain in our hearts. A memorial service with Chaplain Ed Langston officiating is planned for family and many friends on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.  Graveside service with burial following will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
