Parrott-Wood Library Awarded $10,000 Grant By Jane L. Pettway Foundation

Parrott-Wood Memorial Library (through the Friends of Parrott-Wood Memorial Library) has been awarded a $10,000.00 grant from the Jane L. Pettway Foundation for technology upgrades. This grant will enable the library to purchase six new desktop computers. Director Donna Phillips has designated $2,500.00 of this grant to help pay for Trilight Fiber internet services at the library. Phillips is very proud to announce the library is expecting to have 1Gig/1 Gig 1000 upload/1000 download speed. The fast speed internet services are expected to be provided by the end of July or the middle of August.

Mrs. Phillips, staff, and the Friends of the Parrott-Wood Memorial wants to thank the Jane L. Pettway Foundation for believing in their library for the past 6 years. These grants have enable the library to offer their community excellent service.

The Jane L. P Established in 1999 in TN – The foundation was created under the Last Will and Testament of Jane L. Pettway, who died on Sept. 15, 1999. Miss Pettway had been a resident of Knox County, TN, for most of her life and was a librarian and a long time parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church in downtown Knoxville.
