Doug Ibbetson Announces Run for Jefferson County District One School Board

Ten-year, Jefferson County resident, Doug Ibbetson, has announced his candidacy to represent District One on the County School Board. District One is comprised of the neighborhoods of Dandridge, Chestnut Hill, Indian Creek, Parrots Chapel, Swannsylvania, Oak Grove, Deep Springs and Piedmont.

Ibbetson has a corporate as well as an independent business background which he feels would benefit the School District in fiscal responsibility and financial transparency. As a pro-parent candidate, Doug feels that ongoing parental involvement is essential for achieving quality education.

Since his arrival in Jefferson County, Ibbetson has served as the organizer of the “Pickin’ and Grinnin’ Bluegrass Jam” at Indian Creek. He is co-founder and banjo instructor at the Pee Wee Pickers Youth instruction program, and is presently organizing a program to be called “A Day at the Lake” for fatherless children.
