Short Meeting Marks Summer Wind-Down for School Board

With elections still pending, the Jefferson County School Board met this week to address policy committee recommendations and budget amendments. New Director of Jefferson County Schools Tommy Arnold and Vice Chair Pinkerton helmed the meeting that was absent two Board Members ( Bradley and Board Chair Potts).

Following the Call to Order the agenda was approved with the addition of one additional policy committee recommendation and road work at Jefferson County High School. All items for presentation were approved by unanimous vote. No action was taken on Old Business item-Jefferson Elementary School.

The current School Board will have one more regular meeting before the seating of new members. Jefferson County teachers and staff returned to work today and students will take their seats in the classroom August 5, 2022.
