Paul Hardy announces his candidacy for Jefferson County School Board. Paul is a resident of Strawberry Plains and is the father of two recent Jefferson County High School graduates and one that attends Patriot Academy. He considers himself as a Christian conservative and attends The Avenue Church in Morristown. Paul has coached basketball and baseball from 2005 to present for all three of his children’s teams and is very active in the education of his special needs son, who enjoys creating and editing videos.

Paul is a businessman that has over 35 years of experience in the commercial and residential construction industry and currently owns and operates a custom sheet metal fabrication facility, specializing in ornate and functional copperworks for business and residential applications. Paul’s business experience and connection to special needs learners will guide his decision making so that all students’ education will be positively impacted so they have the resources to succeed, regardless of their current academic and vocational aptitude.

Paul lives in School Board District 2, which covers Strawberry Plains and New Market. His wife of 27 years, Dianna Hardy, shares his passion for high quality education and good public policy.

As a candidate, Paul strongly believes in transparency and parental involvement in the education of all children attending the Jefferson County School District. He also believes in taking care of district-wide school system personnel with comparable wages and benefits, especially with the implementation of the new Tennessee education funding model set to take effect in 2024. One of his goals is to improve retention of school system employees, made possible by setting proper priorities and exercising fiscal responsibility.

Paul Hardy is a Jefferson County parent that believes in parental rights. He is a republican and will appear on the March 5, 2024, primary ballot.
