Secretary of State Tre Hargett Announces Grant Funding for Jefferson County Public Library System to Increase Technology Accessibility

Senator Frank Niceley, Representative Jeremy Faison, Representative Andrew Farmer and Secretary of State Tre Hargett announce the Jefferson County Public Library System will receive Training Opportunities for the Public, TOP, Grants.

“Libraries provide so many important resources that help our citizens learn and grow together,” said Sen. Niceley. “These grants will further our efforts to provide opportunities that better serve the public.”

The Dandridge Memorial Library will receive a $1,629 TOP Grant to improve the library’s internet connection, buy Wi-Fi hotspots and provide computer classes for patrons.

“Jefferson County is proud to be the home of the Dandridge Memorial Library,” said Rep. Faison and Rep. Farmer.  “Through the installation of a generous grant, we will be able to advance its resources, and therefore our community. We are so thankful for the continued service of Dandridge Memorial Library and its patrons and cannot wait to see how this grant benefits it further.”

The Jefferson City Public Library will receive a $8,689 TOP Grant to improve the internet connection for public use at both libraries. 
“This latest grant will graciously allow for Jefferson City Public Library to expand its resources, and benefit from renewable energy through the installation of solar-powered charging stations,” said Rep. Faison and Rep. Farmer.  “We are looking forward to seeing the community thrive even further through this establishment!”
