Jefferson County Democratic Presidential Convention March 16

In preparation for the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), the Jefferson County Democratic Party will hold its County Presidential Convention on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Jefferson City Library. Doors open at noon for registration and refreshments. The convention is open to all registered voters in the county who are supporters of the Democratic Party, have voted in the March 2020 Presidential Primary, and who agree to support the nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2024 Presidential election. The convention will begin at 1:00 pm when caucuses will be held to select representatives from the county to attend the District Presidential Convention on April 6, at which time delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be elected. Local Democrats are encouraged to arrive early to complete a credentialing form, celebrate the accomplishments of the Biden/Harris administration, and enjoy refreshments. The party welcomes all local Democrats to participate in this important step in the democratic process of selecting Tennessee’s delegates to the Presidential Democratic National Convention in Chicago the week of August 19, 2024. For those interested in becoming a DNC delegate additional information about the rules governing the DNC Delegate Selection Process and candidacy declaration can be found at tndp.org. Jefferson County Democrats interested in serving as a national delegate are encouraged to file candidacy applications by the deadline of noon on March 7, 2024. Candidates for Delegate must vote in the Democratic Primary and attend both the County Convention on March 16 and the Congressional Convention in Greeneville (District 1) or Knoxville (District 2) on April 6.
