Shoes, Red Hot News Flash !

caroline-graham-swann-small2Hello, my darlings, such a fashion change this coming spring and summer!!! Our shoes are to be out of fashion, you know the platform heels that took so much practice just to walk a short distance, desperately trying not to wobble or fall. .  Remember the cat walk models even falling down in front of zillions of fashion magazine reporters and photographers?    Not only the embarrassment of the lack of grace but totally robbed of being the epitome of confidence a professional model projects, published all over the world. …And, oh, to face the designer of the fashion show knowing that one of the creations was not shown perfectly. That is a model’s nightmare.  Those six or seven inch platform heels caused a lot of poise to vanish in a split second.

Most fashionistas suffered through the first steps of learning how to walk with danger lurking in most every step, and eventually some even flourished with the prowess of perfect poise while trying to maintain balance.

Heralding the news of the Classic Come Back- a one sole shoe, just like old times when there was little danger in wearing stilettos.  I could even run in three inch heels, managed the four inch classic one sole feminine shoe with grace and danced comfortably in my dearly loved classics.

As far as shoes are concerned, I am breathing a sigh of relief for the elegance and grace the classic brings back…no more wobbling- teetering is coming to an end and more safety for sure. Yes, all is great except for the pocket book. Remember the cost of buying new platforms for so many different styles of clothing?

Well, darlings, we are now faced with replacing the platform for the classic shoe. Ouch, as we girls know that can be a pretty penny!!   I am convinced that designers strategize to create entirely new styles when they realize that our closets are full of the current trend. And, of course we come running to the stores.  Like lambs to the slaughter, we fashionistas fall prey.

Take it from a professional fashionista, it is not necessary to purchase every trend that hits the runway. Instead, make the majority of your purchases very classic for clothes and shoes.  Research which of the trendy new fashions you like the best and invest in only two that can be interchanged with different looks.

The trendy fabric for the one sole classic shoe is a brightly colored floral pattern for the 2013 spring/summer. Usually one pair in this trendy floral will look perfect with almost any color attire due to many hues creating the floral look.  My advice is to buy only one pair of the trendy and invest in basic black and taupe. Taupe creates a longer leaner look for the legs and the neutral color goes with every hue. Black, of course, is the most elegant look and very sophisticated

Red shoes are another hot color on the fashion scene this spring/summer.  Red can be worn with the little black dress, as well as bright colors such as blues, aqua, white, earth colors and neutrals. The red shoe adds a certain zip to any outfit. Red is a good alternative to the classic black and serves almost as many outfits.

I am happy, happy, happy, that I can walk without feeling as if I am going to twist an ankle or landing in a most unfashionista like fashion on the pavement.  Long hail the return of the classic heel and the elegance of a lady like shoe. And that, my lovelies, is just one reason to look forward to spring!
