Mr. Billie Riner is a happy Korean War Survivor and Veteran

Mr. Riner was a Senior Turret System mechanic gunner on a B-29. The B-29’s name was Butterfly Baby and flew over 35 combat missions during the Korean War. Mr. Riner was a Staff Sergeant with the Air Force and received the Korean Service Medal. He also had over 300 flight combat hours during the war. Mr. Riner is a Tennessee native being born in Strawberry Plains. Mr. Riner received his Ambassador for Peace Medal today. Korean War Veterans who served in the Korean War may be eligible for the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal. This commemorative medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to United States service men and women who served in the Korean War. Mr. Riner also received a Tennessee Vet to Vet Certificate of Honor in recognition of his service in the Korean War.
