Historic Downtown Dandridge was alive with festive spirit as the 3rd Annual Dandridge Reindeer Run / Walk took place during this year’s Christmas celebrations. The one-mile course welcomed runners and walkers of all ages, turning the streets into a joyful parade of holiday energy and community pride.
This beloved tradition was born from the vision of Dandridge natives Kristin Depew and Ashlin Depew, whose creativity and dedication brought the Reindeer Run / Walk to life three years ago. Since its inception, they have organized and managed the event, ensuring it continues to grow as a cornerstone of Dandridge’s holiday festivities.
“When we first dreamed up the Reindeer Run / Walk, our hope was to create something fun that also gave back to the community. Seeing families, friends, and neighbors come together each year reminds us why this tradition matters so much.” said Kristin Depew
“Organizing the run is a labor of love, and every smile we see on race day makes it worth it. Knowing that the proceeds help local kids through Shop With a Cop is the best gift of all.” added Ashlin Depew
This year’s run was a resounding success, with 100 participants joining in the fun and raising an impressive $2,116. Every dollar goes directly to the Fraternal Order of Police #61’s Shop With a Cop program, helping local children experience the joy of Christmas with gifts and support from law enforcement officers.
A Community Effort
The Reindeer Run / Walk would not be possible without the incredible support of:
- Participants who laced up their shoes and brought energy to the streets.
- Sponsors whose generosity made the event possible. Thanks to Tinsley Bible Drugs, Jessie Depew, Jefferson County Commissioner Randy Bales, Jefferson County Commissioner Austin Brooks, Jefferson County Commissioner Katy Huffaker, and Tennessee State Senator Jessie Seal.
- Public Works teams who ensured the course was safe and festive.
- Law enforcement officers who provided guidance, safety, and the heart behind the Shop With a Cop program.
To each and every one of you—thank you for making this event a true reflection of Dandridge’s community spirit.
