March 2, 1904 was the birthday of Dr. Seuss. In remembrance, children and adults alike took the time to do a bit of extra reading on Friday. Schools across the county celebrated each in their own unique way. In Talbot Elementary there were pets around every corner, if it related to a story you could bring it. There was a dog, a gecko, and even a turtle! Mt. Horeb students forgot to get dressed on Friday morning! Everyone wore their pajamas to school.  White pine elementary student must have gotten dressed in the dark because they had their clothes on inside out and wore silly socks!!!! There were paper hats, big Cat in the Hat hats, stuffed animals, blankets, and with a full week of reading fun which included green eggs and ham for some. Though the accessories were fun and silly, the learning experience was serious, as schools used the opportunity to make reading a seriously fun activity. Students and teachers across the County participated in the reading event with enthusiasm. There should be some interesting stories coming from Mulberry Street this weekend!
