Skin Care for Winter

caroline-graham-swann-small2Hello, My Darlings. With all of the ups and downs that the weather has taken lately, is it any wonder that our skin may be a little less than perfect right now. Though I always use sunscreen and moisturizer, even in the cool months, sometimes it just isn’t enough. If you, like me, are finding your skin to be very dry there are some very easy things that can be done to help correct the situation. I suggest that the very first thing that you do is take a good look at the brand of soap that you use.  A harsh soap is rough on the skin and will contribute to drying. Though there are some wonderful and expensive soaps on the market, a mild soap doesn’t have to be costly. Dove soap is a great, inexpensive alternative to the costly brands and it will leave your skin soft and creamy. Lotions are wonderful and, though I love my sultry and sweet smelling body lotions, sometimes it is time for something a bit more practical. Lubriderm is often used in the hospitals and there is a reason that it is preferred in maternity wards. It is very good for dry, scaly skin. Recently, I have been introduced to another product that is, in my opinion, top notch. Though it is little more pricy than Lubriderm, it is a step up from the traditional lotion. The Naked Bee Ultra-Rich Body Butter is a little thicker than lotion and really does the job for those really dry days. I have found myself using it often, during these cold, dry days and I highly recommend it for all! So, my lovelies keep the moisturizer handy, the soap light and, if you have exceptionally dry skin, go naked like the bee. Until next week, may your days be sunny and warm and may your skin be soft.
