Five Samuel Doak Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Members attended the DAR Annual Spring Luncheon at the Holiday Inn in Johnson City, TN, on March 8, 2013.   The guest speaker was Tennessee State Regent Nancy Hemmrich.

Samuel Doak Chapter’s Regent Gloria Beauchamp, Vice Regent Linda Handel, Librarian Jane Hersch, Barbara Baker, and new member Mary Helms, and Mary’s mother and guest, Margaret Moffatt, attended the event which was hosted by the Sarah Hawkins Chapter NSDAR.  Samuel Doak Chapter won the door prize.  Regent Gloria Beauchamp accepted the framed Poster commemorating the War of 1812, a war that lasted until 1815.

The Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution commissioned Anderson Design Group of Nashville to design a poster for TSDAR depicting Tennessee’s participation in the War of 1812. The artist was Andy Gregg. The poster was unveiled at TSDAR March 2012 State Conference. The members have been urged to place the posters in libraries, classrooms, civic buildings etc.
