Michael Williams Joins Staff of Jefferson County Post
Beginning this week Michael Williams joins the staff of the Jefferson County Post as a contributing writer. Mike has written for more than 40 magazines and web Sites including Yesterday’s Memories, Proceedings, the Civil War Times Illustrated, Reminisce and others.
He has worked as a reporter for the Citizen Tribune and the Knoxville Journal. In addition he has covered sports for the Mountain Press and the Associated Press.
Over the years he has interviewed a number of notable people including the last veteran of World War I, the son of a Confederate veteran, Gov. Haslam, actor Robert Clary, Aaron Tippin, Alice Cooper and Vince Gill to name a few.
Mike is a self-described history buff who has written a book about strange and unusual incidents in history. His book is entitled “Stranger Than Fiction: The Lincoln Curse” and is available on Amazon.com.
Mike will be writing a new feature for the Post entitled “Stranger Than Fiction.” Anyone with an interest in history will enjoy his column. His column is a weekly installment of a strange but true historical event. This week his column is about a wayward outlaw who was killed in a shootout. After the outlaw’s death he began an incredible show business career that spanned more than six decades.
