Cuko wins Special Teams Player of the Week in week 5

Knoxville Nighthawks logoKnoxville Nighthawks kicker Armondo Cuko won the Week 5 Special Teams Player of the Week from the PIFL.

In what arguably was the biggest win in two year history of the Nighthawks, Cuko played a major role in the win as the Knoxville Nighthawks (1-4) defeated the Albany Panthers 31-28.    Despite leading for majority of the game, Knoxville held on thanks to Cuko going 2-3 on PAT attempts, 3-5 on field goal attempts (20, 24, 38) and two Uno’s for a total of 13 points.  He scored the Hawks final seven points edging them to their first victory of the 2013 season helping him earn the Week 5 PIFL Special Teams Player of the Week.

“Cuko has been a good addition for the Nighthawks.  As he continues to improve, his play will help us in future games like we had with Albany. “ said Head Coach Cosmo DeMatteo said.

The Nighthawks have an off week this week.  They will be back on the road against the Louisiana Swashbucklers on Saturday, April 20th.

The Nighthawks next home game will be Saturday, May 4th as they take on Louisiana once again.
