Kim-Moss makes second team all-tournament, Eagles finish fourth at SAC championship
Carson-Newman’s Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada) rounded out his Food Lion SAC Championship week with a 77 (+5) to finish with a 226 (+9) and ninth place. The numbers – bolstered by a one-under round on day one – were good enough to clinch Kim-Moss a spot on the all-tournament second team.
The Eagles (916) placed fourth, six strokes back of third place L-R (910) and ten behind no. two Wingate (906). Lincoln Memorial (873) took home the tournament championship following the second best three-day total in SAC tournament history.
Kim-Moss was one-under through the front nine in round three. In fact, the junior was bogey-free through the first 10 holes. However, Kim-Moss ran into a spot of bother on 11th when he double bogeyed the par four holes. Bogeys would followed on four of the next five holes before Kim-Moss finished out the round with back-to-back pars on 17 and 18.
Rafael Jackson (Rutledge, Tenn. ) turned out a 79 (+7) for the final round to wind up in a tie for 13th.
Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) finished a shot and a spot back of Jackson for the tournament at +14 (230).
Chase McGowan turned in his best round of the tournament with a 74 (+2) to finish in a tie for 24th as did Michael Horerkemp, who improved eight strokes with a 78 (+6) for the final day. McGowan was even on the front nine before bogeying two of the first four holes on the back nine.
