Garlic Knots

recipe-entreeOne of my favorite restaurants is Altruda’s in West Knoxville.  It is the perfect cozy place for a date night with your sweetie.  My husband and I agree we could make a meal out of the amazing salad, garlic rolls drenched in butter and fried artichokes alone. Yum! These garlic knots are similar to the rolls served at Altruda’s, with a little less butter. They are super easy to make, just be careful – they are addictive!

Ingredients

1 can flaky biscuits, 8 count

4 T butter

2 T parmesan cheese

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

Heat oven to 400º.  Take biscuits out of the can and separate each lengthwise into two rounds.  Roll each round into an 8” log and tie into a loose knot.  Bring the edges together behind the knot and pinch together.  Place edge side down on a baking sheet.  Bake 16 minutes, or until lightly browned.  Remove the knots to a serving dish.  Meanwhile, melt the butter.  Stir parmesan and garlic into the melted butter.  Using a pastry brush, liberally coat the warm knots with the butter mixture, pouring any extra over the biscuits.  Serve warm.
