Jefferson County ambulances are on the cutting edge of service with recent additions of power lifts and stretchers that will accommodate the needs of local residents. Early in 2013, the County Commission approved a request from Emergency Services Director Brad Phillips to equip the County’s ambulances with the power lift systems. Director Phillips presented the request to the Commission as a step to lessening the risk to Emergency personnel that daily handle difficult to move and lift patients. The power lift and stretcher are also of great benefit to citizens, as they will receive smooth assent and descent in and out of the ambulance. Though only a couple of the ambulances currently have the lifts installed, equipment is on the way so that the others will shortly share the ability to easily assist difficult to lift patients. The lifts are a part of the Emergency Service’s commitment to providing excellent service to the citizens of Jefferson County, as well as those that just traveling through our area.
