Roadblocks Up Ahead?

Tennessee Department of Transportation has released information on road situations that could impact travel in Jefferson County and surrounding areas. Reported areas of concern are I-40 East and West between Mile Markers 410 and 416. Motorists should look for slow traffic and possible lane closures between the hours of 8pm and 6am, while resurfacing work is done in the area. TDOT has requested that drivers are alert to the possibility of workers in the area and use extreme caution to ensure the safety of everyone. Work in this area will continue through Thursday evening.

US 25W/SR 9 Swann’s Bridge over Douglas Lake will have the possibilities of lane closures beginning Monday, June 3, 2013. Crews will be off loading barges during daylight hours and motorists are urged to be alert and watch for flagmen in the vicinity. Rolling roadblocks will be on I 81 North and South near Exit 8. Impact times are expected to be between the hours of 9am and 4 pm and motorists in the area surrounding College Square Mall in Morristown and Walter State Community College will notice a shift in traffic pattern and should approach the area with caution.

Motorist that plan to use SR 66 and SR 139, as well as SR 338W to travel to Sevierville should be aware that there is an ongoing utility project that could cause delays in the area.
