Vacation Trips of the Past

I love to travel and going to the beach is one of our favorite family vacations. I must admit, however, that the trip is slightly different now that my children are grown and have children of their own. In the past, the trip to the coast seemed significantly longer-in part due to road conditions and in part due to the seemingly non stop fighting that always came from the backseat. Your feet are on me-You are touching me again-Mom, he’s touching me again and of course, he was touching her again. Now, the trip is more peaceful. Well, unless the grandchildren are in the car and then all bets are off. None the less, I still enjoy our time together though my role is different now. Gone are the days of endless sun bathing and in their place are lazy days on the balcony watching from the shade. Fewer sandcastles and more late night movies are the make up of my vacation days. Some things never change, however, such as waking up to little arms and legs taking up the majority of the bed and looking for that perfect shell. Times change and things change but the fun times still last for more than just a few precious days in my memories.
