Dandridge Streets were alive with action on Wednesday afternoon as the Farm Bureau and their iconic spokes figure Farmer Charlie came to Town to shoot their newest advertising piece. Dan Batey, Vice President of Corporate Communication for the Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, stated that location scouts had identified the Town as a prime background for their new commercial celebrating the company receiving the J.D. Power Award for customer satisfaction in auto insurance. Batey said that the award came as a surprise and the underlying message of the commercial was to apply the Golden Rule. The premise of the advertising piece will be to show Farmer Charlie helping others and Batey noted that the residents of Dandridge had been exceptionally helpful and patient during the shoot. A few lucky residents had a photo taken with Farmer Charlie or received one of the popular red hats that are featured in every commercial. The red hat has become so coveted that more than 300,000 have been given away over the last five years. When the final product airs later in August, there may be some familiar faces found on the small screen, as some locals tried their hand at acting.

Batey expressed his appreciation to the Administration and residents of Dandridge for accommodating Farm Bureau and the crew during the making of the commercial and he expects that the advertising piece will go down as one of Farmer Charlie’s fan’s favorites.
