Public Service Committee

The Jefferson County Public Service Committee met on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse.

The meeting was for organizational purposes, following the seating of new Committee Members. Committee Member Turner, who requested the meeting, Called the Meeting to Order. Present were Committee Members Turner, Dockery, Carmichael and Barreiro. Absent was Committee Member Tabor.

Acting Chairman Turner opened the floor for nominations for the office of Chair. Tabor was nominated and elected chair, with no further nominations. Carmichael was nominated and elected to Vice Chair, with no further nominations and Barreiro was elected to serve as Committee Secretary, with no further nominations.

The Committee will carry for action items that were active from the previously seated Committee. Fire Department Substation Funding for Swannsylvania, a noise ordinance and the dirty lot issue will all continue to be taken up by the current Committee. The next meeting will be on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 6pm. The Meeting was Adjourned.
