Using Easter Eggs to Teach

Growing YearsEaster Egg Hunt Activities Designed To Teach.

Glow in The Dark Eggs: Fun and Cool Night Hunt You need Plastic Easter Eggs, Glow Sticks (found in the dollar section at Target, Michael’s, and Dollar Store) and Tape. Snap glow stick. Put on the connector piece to the glow stick to make it a circle and then twist it into two circles. Insert into egg and tape shut.

Scavenger Hunt: Put clues to find each consecutive egg in the plastic eggs hidden throughout the entire house and have their ultimate find be their Easter Baskets. Be creative with your clues (Hop on over to the place which makes you go brrrr…) and make your kids think!

Math Egg Hunt: Hide plastic eggs with numbers in them, ranging from 1 to 5. Limit the how many each child can find. Total up the numbers that are in their eggs and the one with the highest number wins.

Find Your Name Egg Hunt: Write each person’s name on one egg. The person that finds their egg first wins a prize.

Checklist Egg Hunt: Give each child a basket with a checklist and pencil in it and instruct the kids to find ONLY what is on their list. Make all of the checklist the same for each child and make sure you have enough eggs hidden. Find 2 blue eggs, 3 pink eggs, 1 yellow egg, 2 orange eggs, 4 purple eggs, 3 green eggs, etc.

Treasure Map Egg Hunt: Make up treasure maps for your egg hunt. Draw the maps to scale with each tree, bush and flower on the map and plot the hiding spots on the maps when you hide the eggs. Give a copy of the map to each child.

Easter Egg Hunts Using Motor Skills:

Fill each egg with a picture (word) of different motor skills and the number of reps (jump, hop, skip, throw, draw, squeeze, tie, thread, etc.).

Put different sensory materials in each egg and explore the textures (shaving cream, sand, rock, bubble wrap, etc.).

Put finger paint in each egg and use the paint to add to their picture (wipe hands after each egg).

Treasure hunt for direction following.  Each egg gives a clue as to where the next egg is hidden (hop down the hallway to find the blue egg and then that egg would give the next set of directions). The final egg could lead them to something fun!

Fill with beans, rice, sand etc. and shake them to guess what is inside, and use to make music!

Mix and match the colors and have them put the correct colors together

HAPPY EASTER!
