The Jefferson County Fair kicked off its 2014 season on Thursday evening and one highlight of the night was the first evening of pageants. Six Pageants were scheduled for Thursday, with five of the six featuring boys from the age of one day to six years. One of the more popular little girl’s pageants, Petite Miss, featuring girls ages two to three years, was also held Thursday evening. In addition to regular competition, contestants had the opportunity to participate in auxiliary categories such as best hair, best eyes, best smile, best dress, best personality and most photogenic. A new category this year was crowd favorite, which allowed audience participation through voting. Contestants had jars available to allow fans to drop in coins or dollars to help their choice win crowd favorite. The funds raised from the crowd favorite category will be used to improve pageant dressing rooms.

Five boys competed for Baby Prince (7 months to 12 months) and Easton Williams took home the crown. 1st runner up in the event was Zayne Humphreys, 2nd runner up Eastyn Whiting, 3rd runner up was Robert Murphy III and Jaxon Curtis Cate-Atkins took home 4th.

Zane Humphreys received the Personality award. The Best Smile award went to Easton Williams and Most Photogenic to Jaxon Curtis Cate-Atkins. Jaxon also won the Crowd Favorite award.

Tiny Prince (13-23 months) was awarded to Kaleb Pope. Kaleb also won the Crowd Favorite award.

Petite Prince (age 2 to 3) crown went to Kiptyn Huffaker. Kiptyn was awarded in multiple categories, including Crowd Favorite and Most Photogenic.

Several girls competed for Petite Miss (age 2 to3) and Rylea Sammons took home the crown as Petite Miss 2014. 1st runner up was Carly Bentley, 2nd runner up was Macy Harper, 3rd runner up was Presley Foust and 4th runner up was Hannah Trent.

With the exception of Macy Harper as Most Photogenic, the names of winners in specialty categories for Petite Miss were not available at the time of press but will be added as updates are available.

Two categories, Baby Petite Prince (birth to 6 months) and Little Prince (ages 4 to 6 years) had no entries.
