A new season is bringing exciting new things to Habitat for Humanity. Director Shelia Wiggins is enthusiastic about several upcoming events that will allow the public to visit the local Habitat Restore and showcase the variety of clothing and goods available for purchase. September 20th will mark the second annual Fall Fashion Show, which will be held on the grounds of the Habitat Restore. MC for the event will be Anne Marie Potts and Stacy Kirkpatrick will serve as Coordinator for the event. Stacy will be assisted by a group of dedicated women that donate their time and extensive skills to the annual event.

Wiggins said “We are just so fortunate to have so many wonderful ladies that dedicate their time. Some do hair and make up, others assist with the models and keep the show running smoothly. It just couldn’t happen without them and I am so appreciative.”

The fashion show will begin at 11 am and is free to the public. Everyone is invited to attend and get an early start on their fall and Christmas shopping. There will also be door prizes at the event and it was scheduled on an open date for the Volunteers and away date for the Eagles to try to accommodate local football fans.

In addition to the fashion show, Habitat for Humanity will be hosting monthly silent auctions of hand picked items and professional services. The auction items will be available for viewing and bid starting on the first Saturday of the month and running for two weeks. Bidding will end at 2pm on the final Saturday. September’s silent auction will begin on Saturday, September 6th and end at 2pm on September 20th. The auction allows the public to view an eclectic array of items and privately bid, with the proceeds of the auction going to charity. The public is encouraged to drop by the Restore on Hwy 92 (past JCHS and the animal shelter going toward Jefferson City) and browse through the extensive stock, check out the auction items and attend the fashion show, as fall kicks off for Habitat for Humanity.
