Women’s Soccer Plays No. 15 Tampa to a Scoreless Draw

Tusculum Sports LogoThe Tusculum College women’s soccer team played 15 th -ranked Tampa to a scoreless draw in the opening match of the 2014 Saints Shootout, hosted on the campus of Flagler College.

Tusculum keeper Marissa Williams posted six saves while recording her first shutout of the season and 26 th of her collegiate career, which is already program and South Atlantic Conference records.
 
Tampa net-minder Caroline Frykgard also went the distance as he tallied eight saves for the Spartans.
 
Tampa (3-0-1) out-shot the Pioneers (1-1-1) by a 24-11 margin as UT’s Audrey Hayward and Amber Pennybaker with four shots apiece. Tusculum’s Gabrielle Whitt accounted for four shots to pace the Pioneers.
 
Tusculum will take on host Flagler on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. to close out their weekend Florida swing and its four-match road trip to start the season.
