Former Chief Justice Gary Wade Keynotes Jefferson County Democrat Fundraiser

The political machine is gearing up, as candidates have begun stating their positions on the issues and lobbying for votes. A Party that is growing in influence and numbers locally, Jefferson County Democrats hosted a fundraiser on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Jefferson County Rescue Building. An annual event, the bean supper is an ode to the working class citizen. Keynote speaker for the evening was the Honorable Gary Wade, former Chief Justice for the Tennessee Supreme Court and the new Dean of Duncan School of Law, which is a part Lincoln Memorial University. Also addressing guests was Dr. Kara Stooksbury, Chair of the Department of History, Political Science and Sociology at Carson-Newman University. Close to one hundred people came out to support the Party, enjoy the food and fellowship, as well as hear the distinguished speakers.
