4 Jefferson County Athletes Sign with Colleges for National Signing Day

National Signing Day was a big event for Jefferson County High School Football.  4 Student athletes from the Patriots were on hand to sign up for some pretty impressive football programs Wednesday. Logan Townsend, Jacob Varney, and Hayden Moore signed to continue their football careers at Carson-Newman University.

“I’m really excited to be living my dream of playing college football,” Hayden Moore said on Wednesday. “I want to thank Carson-Newman for giving me this awesome opportunity.”

“It’s a great honor to be playing on the next level of college football with Carson-Newman and a great coaching staff,” Logan Townsend stated.

Both Townsend and Varney will be playing the offensive line for the Eagles.  It looks like Moore will be continuing his career on the defensive end of the ball.

Gorel Soumare, the 6-3 wide receiver for the Patriots, will continue his football career at Austin-Peay State University as a Governor.  “I’m so happy and excited for what the future has in store.”

Seniors actually have until April 1, 2016 to make their commitments official.  The Patriots have several other seniors being courted by colleges.  Stay up to date here on Jefferson County Post Sports.

All of us here at Jefferson County Post Sports would like to congratulate all of the seniors and wish them good luck as they continue on to college.
