Local ‘Hams’ In International Event, June 24th – 25th

Lakeway Amateur Radio Club members will demonstrate a live emergency radio stations by deploying generators, equipment & antennas on site at the Dumplin Valley Boys & Girls Club grounds off Route #92, Jefferson City across from the Patriot Hills Golf course.

The Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) sponsors ‘Field Day’ across North America as both a preparedness exercise and a contest bringing together licensed operators from a pool of over 725,000 ‘Ham’s’ in the USA & Canada.

Public demonstrations of this independent communications network will also include the actual building of radio equipment for the digital age at a ‘makers’ table. Public officials are encouraged to witness this event as communities including those in East Tennessee and across the nation have benefited from volunteer service performed at no cost to the taxpayers.
