Jefferson County High School Announces Homecoming Court for 2018

Jefferson County High School is set up to celebrate homecoming this week.  Each class elected members of the Homecoming Court to represent them throughout homecoming week.  The 2018 Jefferson County Homecoming Queen will be crowned Friday night at the game against the William Blount Governors.  Each member of the court will be escorted by cadets from Jefferson County JROTC.

Representing the Patriot Academy and the freshman class are Chloe Courtney and Ava Smith.

Chloe is the daughter of Coy and Amy Courtney of Jefferson City.  She is a member of the JCHS Cheer Team and is enrolled in honors and AP classes at Patriot Academy.  She enjoys shopping, running and spending time with her family.

Ava is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spence Smith of Dandridge.  She is an active member of Jefferson City Christian Church Where she is is on the Youth Worship Team.  Ava is also a member of the Lady Patriots Varsity Soccer Team.  She enjoys singing and spending time with her family.  Ava also enjoys participating in community outreach programs with her church through Habitat for Humanity and Appalachian Outreach.  She is considering a career in pediatric medicine.

Representing the Sophomores are Abby Dodgin and Zoie Martin.

Abby is the daughter of Jennifer Dodgin of New Market and Brad Dodgin of Newport.  She is a member of JCHS Cheer Team.  She loves hiking, canoeing, snowboarding, and volunteering her time at local nursing homes.

Zoie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Martin previously of Corona, CA and currently of Jefferson City.  She is a member of  K2, Extreme Volleyball, Patriot Ensemble, and the non-profit organization S.H.O.S. (Students Helping Other Students).  Zoie enjoys singing, playing instruments, and her dogs Sammy and Rory.

Representing the Junior class are Makayla Alvey and Harley Shumaker.

Makayla is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shane Alvey of Dandridge.  She is an All-Conference player for volleyball, basketball, and softball teams at JCHS.  Makayla plays travel basketball for the Lady Trotters and travel softball for the TN Mojo 2020.  She is a member of Young Life and attends Swannsylvania Baptist Church.

Harley is the daughter of Chip and Claudia Shumaker of White Pine.  Harley is a three year member of Patriot Varsity Basketball and Volleyball teams.  She is a member of Enterprise Baptist Church in Morristown.  In the off season, Harley enjoys playing travel basketball for the Lady Trotters and deer hunting with her Dad.

The following are the representatives for the Senior Class.

Erin Bailey is the daughter of Dr. Scott Walker and Mrs. Michelle Walker and Mr. Ross Bailey and Mrs. Molly Bailey of Morristown.  She is a member of and captain of the JCHS Varsity Volleyball team and Club Unite Volleyball.  She works as a Kids Zone employee at Smokies Stadium and helps coach with Revolution Volleyball in Dandridge.  Erin is a member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City and she enjoys traveling and kickboxing.

Kaity Fritz is the daughter of Darren and Penny Fritz of White Pine.  She is a captain of the JCHS Cheer Team.  She is also a member of the Beta Club, Service Learning, and Young Life.  Kaity is a member of First Baptist Church of White Pine where she is involved with her Youth’s Summer Missions Program and Drama Team.  She was a Teen Board Presentee in Knoxville last month.

Lauren Greer is the daughter of Paula and Eric Greer of Jefferson City.  She enjoys attending Young life, reading, and writing on her blog.  Lauren is a member of Arrowhead Church in Morristown, and she also enjoys gymnastics and yoga.

Katelyn Haun is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Haun of Dandridge.  She is a captain of the JCHS Cheer Team, along with being a member of Beta Club and National Honors Society.  She is a graduate of the 2018 Jefferson County Youth Leadership Class where she completed of 75 hours of community service.  Katelyn is a member of Arrowhead Church in Morristown where she helps in A-Kids.

Gracen Henry is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Henry of Dandridge.  She is a member of Patriot Events Council, Beta Club and the Leo Club.  Gracen is a graduate of the 2018 Jefferson County Youth Leadership Class where she completed over 25 hours of community service.  She is also the Leader of the Riot, the JCHS Student Section.  She attends Arrowhead Church of Morristown.

Jadah Rice is the daughter of Sara Northern, the late Barry Northern, and Cynthia Rice of Jefferson City.  Jadah a member of New Market Baptist Church where she sings in the youth praise band and is involved with the Youth summer mission trips.  She is a member of the JCHS JROTC program and Beta Club.  In her free time she enjoys playing her clarinet and gibing back to her community.  After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in the Navy.

Dakota Stiles is the daughter of Kelly Stiles and Kenny Fisher of Talbott.  She is co-president of the Patriot Pals, a member of the National Honors Society, Beta Club, and the Lady Patriots Tennis team.

Kristen Strange is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Strange of Talbott.  She is a member of the FCA Leadership Team, Yearbook Editorial Staff, and Beta Club.  Kristen attends First Baptist Church of Dandridge, where she sings in the Youth Choir.  She loves to spend time with the elderly and playing outdoors with her nephew, Anakin.  Kristen loves to spread the Gospel alongside her friends.
