Janet Sue Smith-Stanley – On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 73 year old Janet Sue Smith-Stanley, formerly of Goody, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord. There she is reunited with her parents, Edna Mae and Willie Smith, siblings, David and Ralph Smith, and countless family and friends.
She will forever be missed for her generosity, passion for the Lord, wonderful sense of humor, her colorful storytelling, her love of fishing and her love of family. She never met a stranger and was always ready to make new friends. She cared for and loved many in her lifetime, with a humble heart. Among the family that will miss her dearly will be her eldest son Myran Eric Starr and wife Regina of Lenore WV., middle child, Timothy Craig Starr and wife Kimberly of Dandridge, Tenn., and lastly, her youngest child, Jennifer Lueders and husband Gregory of Port Orange, Fl.
The love she felt for her Grandchildren and her Great-Grandchildren is beyond any measure. They will forever carry her love with them. Grandchildren :Velma Rose Starr of Lenore, WV, Eric Starr (Kyra) of Lenore, WV, Timothy C. Starr II (Hayden) of Maher, WV. Joshua E. Starr (Tabitha) Dandridge, TN. Gideon S. Starr (Beah) Dandridge, TN. Great-Grandchildren: Bryson, Lexie, Hayes, Emma, Skye, Elliot, Jaden, Kailey, Landon, and Luke.
Janet also leaves behind a brother, Frankie Darell Pennington (Lisa ) Beauty, Ky. Nephews Willie, George, Matt, Victor, and Roy and Nieces Kathy, Tammy, and Sister will miss her with great sadness.
The family would like to extend love and comfort to her dear friend Lonnie Lackey.
The family would like to say a special thank you to her cousins Wanda, Ruthie, Mildred, Tulip and to the Caris Hospice team of Seiverville, TN for your compassionate care.
A special memorial service will be held at the Lackey Cemetery, Laurel Creek, West Virginia sometime in July TBA.
