Director of Schools, Tommy Arnold – Exciting to see hard work pay off

Director of Schools, Tommy Arnold regarding Reward Schools and District Status

We are very proud of the hard work that goes into a school scoring well on the state assessment. It’s truly a team effort of all the stakeholders and we are excited for the three schools being recognized by the state as a Reward School.

Our district accountability designation is Advancing Status, which is the 2nd highest level given by the Department of Education. It is always exciting to see hard work pay off. We have a dedicated team of educators, community members, students, and elected officials that care about education and these steps forward make everyone extremely proud.

There is always room for improvement! Jefferson County has made a commitment to reach academic excellence and I believe we will all continue to strive for academic excellence in each school and individual classroom.

I publicly want to recognize Piedmont Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, and Talbott Elementary School for your school’s hard work and student accomplishments in achieving Reward School Status!
