Carson-Newman welcomes Serbian artist Dejan Mraović for an exhibition in the University’s Omega Gallery located in the Warren Art Building.

The exhibit, featuring three video programs, opens Monday, Nov. 18, with a gallery talk featuring the artist at 2:30 p.m. An opening reception will begin at 3:30 p.m.

“Graphic Ambassadors of a Country – Redesign of Serbian Dinars,” will be Mraović’s fifth solo art exhibition. He has also participated in more than 20 group art exhibitions around the globe, and his short films have appeared in nine juried film festivals. His work has been published and included in exhibitions in Serbia, Germany, Bangladesh, Spain, Argentina, Greece, England, China, Canada, and several of the United States.

Mraović is in his second year of teaching art and design at Campbellsville University, in Campbellsville, Ky., where he initiated a new academic program in Graphic Design. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from Ohio University in 2012. Before that time he earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts degree and worked professionally as a designer in his native country of Serbia.

The exhibition will continue through Dec. 6. The Omega Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free. For more information, call 865-471-4985.
