Growth Plans Will Move To Commission

The Urban Growth Boundary Committee met on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse.

The meeting was Called to Order by Committee Chairman, Jefferson County Mayor Palmieri. Following a Motion from Committee Member Mayor Potts (Jefferson City) to suspend the rules to allow the acceptance of the minutes from the September 10, 2014 and September 11, 2014 meetings and a 2nd from Committee Member Johnson, the Committee Approved suspending the rules. With a Motion from Committee Member Mosier and 2nd from Mayor Potts, and a Motion from Johnson and 2nd from Mayor Potts, the Committee Approved the Minutes from September 10, 2014 and September 11, 2014, respectively.

Chairman Palmieri stated that obligations for public hearings have been met and the independent municipalities have ratified the resolutions for the 2013 Growth Plan for Jefferson County. He informed the Committee that, should they approve the Resolution, it will go before the County Commission. The County Commission will hold two public hearings and either adopt or fail the presented Resolution. Should the Commission fail to adopt the Resolution, the Growth Boundary Committee has the option of pursuing approval from the State of Tennessee.

With a Motion from Jefferson City Mayor Potts and 2nd from Mosier, the Committee Approved the Resolution to amend the Jefferson County Growth Plan.
