FRANCIS MARSHALL CURRY

FRANCIS MARSHALL CURRY, age 90, of Dandridge, TN passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2014. He was born November 1, 1923 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late John Marshall and Emily Motes Curry. He was a member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren. Marshall was a veteran of WWII and the U.S. Navy and also served in the U.S. Air Force and the Coast Guard reserves. He was a long-time employee of Leeper Hardware of Jefferson City. He had a passion for reading, working outdoors, and in his younger years, enjoyed flying. He was a compassionate family man and will be remembered for his loving care of his wife, Shelba Jean, who suffered with dementia these past four years. Preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Shelba Jean Cox Curry; sister, Shelia Savage; step-grandson, Christopher Frattin. He is survived by his step-children, Mike Trower, Cindi McCormick, Robin Frattin, and Jeff Trower; sister, Kathleen Connerth; several step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren; several cousins and other relaatives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the French Broad Church of the Brethren, 3306 Brethren Church Rd., White Pine, TN 37890. Funeral services, Tuesday, February 25, 2014, 7:00pm at the French Broad Church of the Brethren with Rev. Ron Wine officiating. Interment graveside services, Wednesday, 10:00am at the French Broad Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6:00 to 7:00pm prior to services at the church.
