State and Local Dignitaries Visit Parrott-Wood Library for Grant Presentation

Secretary of State, Tre Hargett, presented the Parrott-Wood Library and County Mayor, Alan Palmieri, a $5,000.00 check to be used for fixtures for the new edition at Parrott-Wood Memorial Library. This is a matching State grant that will provide a total of $10, 000 towards the fixtures of the new edition at Parrott-Wood Library. Mr. Jack Kramer, which was instrumental in getting this project started, was on hand to give tours of the new addition. The new addition will be designated as the children’s, junior readers and young adult’s section. The Parrott-Wood Library’s existing building was built and opened in 1969 by Mamie Parrott. It will be remodeled and used as the adult section. Once this project is completed, the community will experience new technology, new books, and events for the community.
