First Annual Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity Tennova Healthcare Golf Classic

The First Annual Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity Tennova Healthcare Golf Classic was held April 24, 2014 at Patriot Hills Golf Course. Sheila Wiggins, local Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, said that Habitat for Humanity was thrilled to have Colin McRae, Tennova CEO and Habitat for Humanity Board Member and Tennova Healthcare as proud partners for the fundraising golf tournament. Registration began early on April 24th for the 21 teams and all participating golfers were treated to a wonderful lunch before hitting the links. The Exact Business Forms team from Knoxville took first place in the event. Congratulations to Ken Canada, Marty Hartsell, Tyler Wyatt and Chuck Cavalaris. The tournament netted over $6000.00 for the local Habitat for Humanity chapter.

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Non-Profit ministry that helps lower income families become home owners. It is a partnership between the families, who provide “sweat equity” as part of their down payment, volunteers and donors. Long term, no interest mortgage loans are also an important part of the process, and mortgage payments provide funding for future Habitat homes. Habitat International is active in over 100 countries, providing homes for people all over the world. Habitat for Humanity doesn’t just build houses, they build communities and families.
