Jefferson County Man Shoots Son

A Jefferson County man has been taken into custody for shooting his son in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 14, 2014.  According to information released by the Jefferson County Sheriff G.W. “Bud” McCoig, officers were dispatched to 375 East Dumplin Valley Road in Jefferson City following a call from a man stating that he had shot his son. Deputies arrived at the scene and found a 45 year old man with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS arrived on the scene and the gunshot victim was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center via LifeStar.

Edward Bullard, age 65, of 375 East Dumplin Valley Road was taken into custody at the scene. According to Sheriff McCoig, the weapon was recovered at the scene and the investigation, which is being lead by Detective Perry Moyers, is ongoing.

As of 9:30 pm on Saturday, representatives from the University of Tennessee Medical Center stated that they had no patient information on the victim.
