Donna Phillips, Director at Parrott-Wood Memorial Library, has been pleased to host the Rush Strong School’s Rocket after school program kids at the library. These activities began on May 25th and will continue through June 15th. Debbie Self and her staff have been bringing the Boys and Girls Club down 2-3 times every week, as well. Every child has been able to check-out books, read books on getepic.com (reading site teachers use) and enjoy educational programs.

Jefferson County Mayor Mark Potts and Scott Finchum, author of The Slow Life of Sammy the Three-Toed Sloth were guest hosts at the library on June 8th. Mayor Potts read to the children and talked to them about being a mayor and a paramedic. Scott Finchum was very eager to share his book with the children and told them how a person can get a book published.
