Denise Fair announces candidacy for Jefferson County School Board District 3

Denise Fair proudly announces her candidacy for Jefferson County School Board in District 3. Denise was born in Jefferson County and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in Government and Communications. She is a mother of six and has served the people of Jefferson County at Jefferson County 911 for the last 15 years.

Denise served on the School Board previously (2016-2020) in the 2nd district. She was honored to stand up for her constituency and pursue fiscally conservative policies that have the best interests of students, teachers, and county stakeholders in mind. While serving on the Board, Denise:

  1. Was the only School Board member to originally vote against the closure of Rush Strong School
  2. Voted against removing the “Patriot” from the JCHS football field
  3. Voted against building a new Jefferson Elementary School (and sought renovations and building maintenance instead)
  4. Voted against frivolously spending 2.2 million dollars on athletic renovations at JCHS and instead requested the reallocation of these funds for building repairs/maintenance county-wide
  5. Supported and helped establish the Jefferson County Middle School Soccer Club
  6. Supported the establishment of the Jefferson County Patriot Anglers fishing team
  7. Voted for the expansion of the CTE program at JCHS (e.g. Welding program)
  8. Lobbied for bringing the Driver’s Education program back into the JCHS curriculum
  9. Voted for increasing teacher’s base pay
  10. Voted for bonus pay for cafeteria volunteers that served food during the COVID 19 pandemic

Denise is married to Sgt. Chris Fair (Dandridge Police Department) and is the daughter of Rocky Melton and bonus daughter to Marilyn Barr (both of Jefferson City). Denise would like to humbly ask for your vote in the Republican primary on May 3.
