Dr. Heather LeMay as the Special Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools

Dr. Shane Johnston, Director of Schools: We are excited to announce Dr. Heather LeMay as the Special Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools.

“The leadership team at central office has high confidence in Dr. LeMay. I believe her experiences gained as an educator in this system will provide key skills needed to work with all the schools, families, students, and administrators.”

Dr. LeMay is currently in her 10th year in education. Dr. LeMay was serving as the Interim Special Education Supervisor following the resignation of Ms. Jessi Underwood in late 2021.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tusculum University, a master’s degree from Tusculum University (Curriculum Development and Instruction), a master’s degree from East Tennessee Sate University (Advanced Practices with Students with Disabilities), and a Doctorate degree from East Tennessee State University in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

Dr. LeMay began working in her new role on Monday, March 14, 2022.
