Morristown Woman Arrested For Involvement In String Of Overdose Deaths

Ashlyn Jade Henry was arrested this morning for her involvement in a string of overdose deaths that occurred in January in the city of Morristown and Hamblen County.

Henry, 24, of White Pine, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Greeneville, Tennessee and is charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and fentanyl, distribution of fentanyl resulting in death (3 counts), and distribution of fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury (2 counts).

Henry’s arrest is a result of several months of investigation by The Morristown Police Department, The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The White Pine Police Department assisted in her arrest this morning.

These law enforcement agencies, like many across the state, are committed to combating the sale of dangerous drugs in our communities. We hope this arrest will assist in bringing closure to the families that have been affected by these incidents.

MPD Chief Roger Overholt stated, “I commend all the officers and agencies involved in this operation for their dedication throughout the investigation and the work they have done”.
