U.S. Marshals Arrest Pennsylvania Top 5 Most Wanted on Child Rape Charges In Sevierville Hotel

The Eastern District of Tennessee U.S. Marshals Service Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force (SMFTF) arrested Corey Matthew Maikranz at a hotel in Sevierville located at 1410 Winfield Dunn Parkway. Maikranz was wanted out of Pennsylvania for child rape and other sex offenses involving multiple juvenile victims. The Pennsylvania State Police had placed Maikranz on Pennsylvania’s Top Five Most Wanted list.

From Lykens, PA, the 36-year-old Maikranz has a history of offenses against children. In 2016, he was charged with brutally beating a 3-year-old child in Upper Paxton Township, PA. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Eastern District of Tennessee U.S. Marshal David Jolley stated, “Protection of our children is our most fundamental duty as a society. It is an awesome day when we can take away the freedom of an animal like this who has violated the innocence of young victims. As a father and grandfather, the crimes this guy has committed are incomprehensible and I especially don’t appreciate that he thought he could run to East Tennessee and hide in his attempt to flee from justice. I would like to commend the deputy U.S. Marshals and the Pennsylvania State Police for their excellent investigative work in tracking down this subject. You can run but you can’t hide. Come here and we will be waiting with handcuffs.”

The SMFTF members involved in the investigation and arrest were from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Greeneville, Morristown, and Jefferson City Police Departments, and the Sevier and Carter Cunty Sheriff’s Departments. The Sevierville Police Department also assisted in the arrest.

Maikranz was transported to Sevier County, TN jail and booked in as a fugitive from justice. He will be extradited back to Pennsylvania.
