VSO Assistant – Full Time

Full-time position with benefits. Provides support to the Jefferson County Veteran Service Officer and represents county veterans within U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs systems.

Requirements:

  • Honorably discharged veteran (disabled veteran preferred)
  • Knowledge of VA systems and benefits
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Eligibility for VA accreditation
  • General knowledge of pensions, compensation, presumptive conditions, PACT Act, and related benefits
  • Completion of required VA training within 12 months of hire
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FOIA, and confidentiality requirements
