DAR – Dandridge Memorial Library Collection Enriched with Donation of Ken Burns’ “American Revolution”

Martha Dandridge Washington Chapter DAR Librarian Anne Word presents the “American Revolution” Collection to Bethany Jones, Dandridge Memorial Library’s Director.

In a significant enhancement to local cultural offerings and historical education, the Dandridge Memorial Library adds Ken Burns’ renowned documentary collection, “The American Revolution: An Intimate History,” which includes a complete DVD set.

This donation was made possible through the efforts of the Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution (TSDAR), whose mission focuses on promoting American history education and nurturing patriotism. Their support, along with funding from a grant provided by Tennessee America 250, an initiative spearheaded by the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semiquicentennial, was crucial in facilitating the acquisition of this collection.

“We are proud to provide this book and DVD set as a tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and contributions of the Patriots of the American Revolution. We are dedicated to making the stories of our nation’s founders available to all citizens,” stated Carol Teeters, TSDAR State Regent.

Founded in 1890, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a lineage-based, nonpolitical volunteer service organization dedicated to historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
